Effective Networking, headed up by a friend and amazing colleague of mine Diane Darling, is in the business of teaching "the art building and sustaining mutually beneficial relationships". They offer training services and programs designed to give you and your company an effective networking strategy.

:: Charge.com is a terrific resource if you want to be able to accept credit cards for your large or small business. I have done a lot of research and can't find anyone who can beat their well- priced services. After working with them myself, to get setup - I feel very comfortable recommending them as a solid, professional choice for merchant processing services.

:: The Small Business Knowledge Base is a free resource chock full of all the information, free guides, tips and information you could hope to find. Not the "prettiest" site - but full of valuable content.

:: MIT OpenCourseWare is a large-scale, Web-based electronic publishing initiative that is committed to providing free, searchable, coherent access to MIT's course materials for educators in the non-profit sector, students, and individual learners around the world.

:: Online learning and training has become a huge resource for those of us who are too busy to attend a class at a specific time and place. eLearners.com can help you find the courses, programs and schools to match your needs. They can help you find varying certificate programs and, if you want, a school that allows to complete your degree.

:: Here's an educational resource. Barnes&Noble University offers courses in Literature & Languages, Home & Leisure, Business & Education, Health & Family, History & Society, Arts & Entertainment, Science & Technology and finally, Life Improvement. I'm currently taking their Flash 5 Class and am learning a lot!

BOOKS

Design for Community: the art of connect real people in virtual places This is a great book about putting the human touch and relationship behind the technology. The internet has had the impact of bringing together people that may have never have otherwise crossed paths. This books talks about how to facilitate that in a powerful and dynamic way!

:: Strength to Love by Martin Luther King Jr. After Sept 11^th, I'm compelled to suggest this book. This book embraces what it is to love and affect change in the world with non-violence. I'm still dealing with this book and its challenge to me. I think you'll like it. If you want to learn more about the principles of non-violence... you can also check out The Gandhi Institute.
